* SITE RULES !
Heyyy there ! These are the rules of Blood Promise, and we suggest you read them thoroughly. We are an intermediate to advanced site, and we require a 350+ word count in thread posts. On this site we consider ourselves PG-13 and we don't want to get in trouble for having a bunch of youngsters running around. Please obey proboards' rules! If you are under the age, don't even register on this board. Speaking of PG-13, we ask that all 'sex' scenes are stopped at a point, and are fast forwarded. Swearing, alcohol and drug references will be allowed but to a very slight extent. Also, please note that if you have not posted an application two weeks after registering, then the staff will delete you.[/size]
You may register with whatever username you'd like, but we ask that once you do, you change your display name to your character's first and last name all in lowercase. You will not be allowed to post anything besides your application until you have been accepted by an admin. We would love if you could fill the application out to the very best of your ability, but we can take a hint when people like to build their character more through posting. Since that tends to happen a lot, we won't judge you much on your application; as long as you meet all the requirements!
CHARACTERS & ROLE-PLAYING
Now, since you love this site so much already you may be asking how many characters you are allowed to make. Our character count is four characters per person (staff may have six). If you tend to make characters to the limit given, make sure that the characters aren't all the same gender! We know a lot of people like making girls more than guys so to every two characters, please have a character of the opposite gender. If you have over one character please make sure you are active with all of them and that you sign into all of your accounts each day.
Most people probably know what's going to be said next. The basic rule procedures you've read a hundred times, I know, but we have to say them just in case. First, no mary-sures, gary-stews, or whatever you want to call them; no one is perfect! Everyone has flaws, so your character/s should have them too, just like a real person. Next is no god modding. Period. This means you can't control anyone's character even if it's something as little as moving their hand without their permission. The staff will be monitoring this, and you will face consequences if you do it.
Posts should all be written in third person, people! We seriously do not know how to stress that enough. Nothing else is acceptable (besides in internet or phone threads). Along with this rule is spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Most people use it and so should you. We really don't care about capitalization or anything like that as long as you d0N't wR1tE l1k3 tH1$! It's annoying and extremely hard to read. Chat lingo (lol, bbl, and all that jazz) is only accepted in IM and text threads. The code phrase is welcome to the jungle.
GENERAL
To wrap up, we would like you to ask permission on the big things. Pregnancy, serious illness and death are the biggest things, so please make sure you ask an admin before RPing it out. If you think a situation your character is in is big enough to ask permission about, please do it.
To make a good impression on not just the admins, but the other members on this site and guests – please follow this section of the rules like your life depended on it Disrespectful people are certainly not welcome here. Talk like you would to your parents. If you talk badly to them, find a new, respectful and friendly way to talk to us. We hate drama outside of RPing and don't want any of it started on our site. Please, think before you say something, it helps you avoid a lot trouble.
No nagging people for plots. If you want plots post a request thread or post in some other characters’. It really is all that simple. This goes along with nagging people to reply to you, unless of course you’ve been waiting a while.
The main ooc cbox is guest friendly, but if you have not been accepted yet do not post in the icc (will be located in a link directly under the main cbox eventually). If you are more active in the ICC than you are with actually posting in regular threads, we will ban you for whatever time seems fit. Nothing in the ICC will have any influence on the events that occur on the actual site. The ICC is just there to pass time and help with muse and trying out plot ideas that can eventually be played out on the site if those involved want it too. As far as the cboxes go, please do not advertise or spam either one; we have boards for that.
GRAPHICS
Our favorite thing to look at is all the pretty graphics! We love them here and so should you! They make our site look professional and well organized. There is a set icon size of 150x200 that everyone must have, so please do not use anything bigger or it will stretch the board. No signature rules, but please do not stretch the site. We also won't tolerate any 'anime' or cartoon play-bys.
Lastly, don’t be scared of us! We’re both extremely friendly, approachable people, and will always put the wants, needs, and concerns of our members first! If you need anything, just PM one of us or try and catch one of us in the cbox and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Please remember, however, that we do have lives and might not be able to get to you straight away. Most of the time, a member will be around in the cbox if a staff member is not and can do their best to answer your questions as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read these rules; we know how much this part of joining a site sucks. We hope you enjoy the site!
